The 100 Francs banknote, issued by Madagascar between 1964 and 1973, has dimensions of 130 mm in length and 70 mm in width. This banknote belongs to the N.20 series.
On the obverse, there is a scene depicting three women weaving baskets. The background consists of a farm, adding a rural context to the scene. The inscriptions on this side of the banknote are written in Latin script. It includes the mention "FAMOAHAMBOLAN'NY REPOBLICA MALAGASY" as well as "INSTITUT D'ÉMISSION MALGACHE". The nominal value is indicated by "CENT FRANCS" and "ROAPOLO ARIARY".
The reverse of the banknote depicts a typical landscape of southwestern Madagascar. Baobabs are positioned in the center-right of the composition, while alohala are visible at the bottom and on the right. The presence of cacti on the left completes this landscape. A rectangular cartouche located at the bottom left contains the penal text translated into the two official languages. The weight of this banknote is one gram.
