This banknote, with a nominal value of 100 francs, was issued by the Bank of Madagascar between 1928 and 1950. It belongs to the period of the French colony of Madagascar, and its currency is the Malagasy franc (1925-1945). The banknote is rectangular in shape and made of paper. Its dimensions are 183 mm in length and 113 mm in width. It should be noted that this banknote is no longer legal tender.
The front of the banknote features, on the left, a father facing his wife and child, located on the right. In the background, on the left, two men stand on a dock, waiting for a cargo ship offshore. Aloalo patterns are visible to the right and left of the vignette. The Latin inscriptions include the mention "BANQUE DE MADAGASCAR", the value "100", the titles "Le Contrôleur Général" and "Le Directeur Général", as well as the value "CENT FRANCS". The names "H. CAYON DEL." and "E. GASPÉ SC" are also present. Eugène Gaspérini is identified as the engraver and Henri Félix Cayon as the designer.
The back of the banknote depicts a close-up of a zebu team, with a larger team visible in the background. Various aloalo patterns frame the vignette. The Latin inscriptions include the value "100" as well as the names "H. CAYON DEL." and "E. DELOCHE SC". The banknote was issued by "Madagascar et dépendances" and the issuing bank is the "Banque de Madagascar".
