This 2 litas commemorative coin, issued by Lithuania in 2012, pays tribute to Palanga. The coin is struck in bimetallism, combining two different alloys to create a distinct visual contrast.
The obverse of the coin features a stylized representation of the Vytis, the emblem of the Lithuanian state. The words "LIETUVA" (Lithuania) and "2 LITAI" are arranged in a semicircle around the emblem. The mint mark of the Lithuanian Mint is also present on this side.
The reverse of the coin highlights the theme of Palanga. The name "Palanga" is inscribed at the top, with the year of issue "2012" located at the bottom. The reverse design is the work of Giedrius Paulauskis, who also designed the obverse.
The edge of the coin is decorated with segmented seedlings. The coin is delivered in uncirculated condition, which means it has not been circulated and retains its original state.
The coin weighs 7.5 grams and has a diameter of 25 millimeters.
