Description

Wakeno Kiyomaro, also known as Ki no Kiyomaro, was a historical figure in Japan who lived in the 8th century. He was a nobleman and a renowned poet of the Heian period.

Kiyomaro was born in 718 and belonged to the noble Ki family. He was raised in an intellectual environment and developed a talent for poetry from a young age. He is known as one of the Thirty-Six Immortal Poets of the Heian period, which was renowned for its literary and poetic output.

Kiyomaro was active in the literary circle of the imperial court, where he participated in poetry contests and exchanged verses with other prominent poets of the time. His poems were appreciated for their elegance and sensitivity, and he was often praised for his mastery of traditional poetic forms such as waka.

In addition to his poetic talents, Kiyomaro was also known for his impressive physical appearance. He was described as tall and imposing, with red hair, which was considered rare at the time.

Kiyomaro is also associated with a famous legend. It is said that he was attacked by a demon, but through his courage and strength, he managed to defeat it. This story contributed to his fame and status as a heroic figure.

Although Kiyomaro lived over a thousand years ago, his legacy as a talented poet and legendary character has endured through the centuries. He is often mentioned in Japanese literature and poetry, and he is considered one of the great masters of Heian period poetry.
