This banknote, with a face value of 10,000 rials, was issued by the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2022. It measures 156 mm long by 71 mm wide.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of Ruhollah Khomeini, an iconic figure in Iran, located on the left side. Gray ornamental motifs complement the design. A windowed security thread is incorporated into the paper. The signatures of Abdolnaser Hemmati and Farhad Dejpasand also appear on this side.
The Persian inscriptions translate as "Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran" and "Ten Thousand Rials".
The back of the banknote depicts the Avicenna Mausoleum in Hamadan, an important cultural site. Persian and English inscriptions identify the monument as "Tomb of Sheikh al-Raïs Abu Ali Sina Hamadan" and indicate "Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran" and "Ten Thousand Rials".
The watermark embedded in the paper represents Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini, also known as Ayatollah Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as the face value of the banknote in electrotype.
