This banknote originates from Indonesia and was issued in 1964. It represents a face value of 25 sen. It is part of a special series issued by Bank Indonesia.
The front of the banknote is mainly red on a yellow-green background. The main visual element is a volunteer depicted in uniform, located on the right side of the banknote. There are inscriptions in the Latin alphabet, including the mention "BANK INDONESIA" as well as the face value "25". The year of issue, "1965", is also indicated. The words "GUBERNUR DIREKTUR" appear, followed by "DUA PULUH LIMA SEN" and "SUKARELAWAN". The name of the printer, "P.N. PERTJETAKAN KEBAJORAN", is also mentioned.
The back of the banknote features inscriptions in the Latin alphabet. The printer of this banknote is Pertjetakan Kebajoran, a company based in Jakarta, Indonesia, which was active from 1952 to 1971.
This banknote was put into circulation on December 13, 1965. Due to a devaluation of the rupiah of only 10 times instead of 1000, these small banknotes had practically no value at the time of their issue. Consequently, a large quantity of these banknotes was never put into circulation.
The signatures on the banknote are those of the Governor, Jusuf Muda Dalam, and the Director, Hertatijanto. The dimensions of the banknote are 112 mm in length and 56 mm in width.
