The 20,000 Guinean franc banknote issued in 2024, series BH, measures 148 × 70 mm. Its design incorporates symbolic elements and representations of Guinean infrastructure.
On the obverse, a portrait of a smiling Guinean woman occupies the left side of the banknote. Two doves are also present, potentially symbolizing peace and hope. In the center, the coat of arms of the Republic of Guinea, in use since 1993, is highlighted. This coat of arms features a dove holding an olive branch in its beak, and the national motto "Work Justice Solidarity" is inscribed. A new holographic seal, adorned with two birds, is affixed as a security feature.
The reverse of the banknote illustrates the Kaléta hydroelectric power plant, located on the Konkouré River in western Guinea. The focus is on the dam itself, an essential infrastructure for electricity production. Two transmission towers are depicted on the left, highlighting the distribution function of the energy produced by the power plant. The Kaléta hydroelectric project primarily aims to increase electricity production in Guinea.
This banknote combines figurative elements, such as the portrait of the woman and the doves, with a representation of a key infrastructure for the country's economic development. The coat of arms and the national motto reinforce the identity and values of the Republic of Guinea.
