Superb German commemorative coin minted in 1994 in Berlin (mint mark A) to mark the 50th anniversary of the July 20, 1944 plot, an assassination attempt against Adolf Hitler orchestrated by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg and his companions, a central figure of the German internal resistance to the Nazi regime.

The obverse features the federal eagle with the inscription BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND 1994 · 10 DEUTSCHE MARK · A. The reverse depicts chained eagle wings, a powerful symbol of hindered freedom, with the inscription DER DEUTSCHE WIDERSTAND 1933?1945 · 20. JULI 1944. The smooth edge bears the inscription WIDERSTAND GEGEN DEN NATIONALSOZIALISMUS ? Resistance against National Socialism.

Engraved by Paul Effert. Medal alignment (??). Demonetized on December 31, 2001, this coin is now exclusively a collector's item.
