This Gambian banknote, with a face value of 5 dalasis, was issued in 1996 and is part of Series B. The front of the note features a multicolored background dominated by shades of red, orange, and dark brown. The main iconography includes a depiction of a giant kingfisher positioned in the center of the note and a young girl located on the left.
The inscriptions on the front are in Latin and include the name of the issuing institution, the "CENTRAL BANK OF THE GAMBIA", followed by the promise of payment on demand of the sum of "5 FIVE DALASIS".
The back of the note is printed in red and brown. The central image depicts cattle positioned on the left. The inscriptions, also in Latin, repeat the name of the central bank, "CENTRAL BANK OF THE GAMBIA", as well as the face value, "FIVE DALASIS".
The banknote's watermark depicts a crocodile head, a distinctive security feature integrated into the paper during its manufacture.
