The 1000 Francs banknote from French Polynesia, issued in 2014, has a rectangular format with dimensions of 126 millimeters in length and 66 millimeters in width.
The front of the banknote features a Tapa fabric pattern, originating from the island of Wallis. A Manta ray is also depicted, accompanied by a sea turtle, symbols of the region's rich aquatic fauna.
On the back, the banknote illustrates the horned parakeet (Eunymphicus cornutus), an endemic species of the region, as well as the Kagu (Rhynochetos jubatus), an emblematic bird of New Caledonia. White terns are also present, completing the representation of local biodiversity. A Siapo fabric pattern, from the island of Futuna, enriches the visual composition of the back.
In watermark, a Polynesian canoe is visible, accompanied by the number 1000, corresponding to the face value of the banknote. The series of this banknote is designated by the letter K6.
