Arnaud Clairand's work dedicated to coins minted during the reigns of Louis XIII (1610-1643), Louis XIV (1643-1715), Louis XV (1715-1774), Louis XVI (1774-1793), and in livre tournois during the Convention. It is based on the examination of more than 800,000 archival coin photographs and includes:
• A refreshed typology and changes in nomenclature for certain denominations. • Reliable and precise mintage figures (by semester, by master/director...). • A contextualization of coin emissions and a particularly well-presented format, including edge designs. • 12,767 coins found out of 16,878 listed in the archives (75.64%). • 27,743 different coin types illustrated for each coin found. • 76,602 valuations distributed according to six states of preservation and six rarity indices.
