This French banknote, with a face value of 50 francs, was issued on June 12, 1947. It belongs to the G.75 series and weighs approximately 1 gram. Its dimensions are 120 millimeters in length and 78 millimeters in width.
The front of the note features a portrait of Urbain Le Verrier, depicted holding a compass. The background of this portrait is adorned with a representation of the Paris Observatory. The inscriptions on this side of the note include the face value "50" repeated twice, as well as the words "CINQUANTE FRANCS" and "BANQUE DE FRANCE". The writing used is Latin.
The back of the note depicts Neptune, the Roman god of the sea, accompanied by two dolphins. In the background, representations of the astrological signs of Capricorn and Aquarius are visible.
