This French 50 Francs banknote, dated June 12, 1947, belongs to the G.75 series. It was designed by Robert Poughéon and engraved by André Marliat.
On the front, the banknote features a portrait of Urbain Le Verrier holding a compass. The background depicts the Paris Observatory. The inscriptions "50" appear twice. You can also read the face value "CINQUANTE FRANCS" and the mention "BANQUE DE FRANCE". The writing used is of Latin type.
On the back, the composition features Neptune accompanied by two dolphins. In the background, representations of the astrological signs of Capricorn and Aquarius are visible.
This banknote has a size of 120 mm in length and 78 mm in width.
