The 50 Francs Guiraud coin, minted in 1954, is a French coin with a face value of 50 francs. It is composed of bronze and aluminum, giving it a specific color and physical properties. It weighs 8 grams and its diameter measures 27 millimeters.
The obverse of the coin features a head of Marianne turned to the left. Marianne is wearing an olive branch and adorned with a cockade. The engraver's signature, G. GUIRAUD, is visible behind Marianne's head. The inscription "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" is written in capital letters, framing the portrait. The engraver's name, "G GUIRAUD", is also present on this side.
The reverse of the coin depicts a rooster standing, facing right, perched above an olive branch. The face value "50 FRANCS" is clearly indicated in two lines. The year "1954" is positioned below the face value. The words "LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE" are arranged in an arc, recalling the motto of the French Republic. The mark of the general engraver, represented by a wing for Lucien Bazor, is located to the right of the year. The mark of the mint director, symbolized by a cornucopia for the Régie des Monnaies, is located to the left of the year.
The edge of the coin is smooth, without inscriptions or decorations.
