This 50 franc banknote was issued by the Cambrai Chamber of Commerce on September 15, 1914, as part of the fifth series. The text is written in Latin.
The obverse of the banknote features the following inscriptions: "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE CAMBRAI" at the top, followed by "CINQUIEME SÉRIE". The face value "CINQUANTE FRANCS" is clearly indicated in the center, along with the issue date "15 SEPTEMBRE 1914". The functions "Le Trésorier", "Le Président" and "Le Caissier" are mentioned, probably to designate the responsible signatories. A redemption clause specifies that "Le présent billet sera remboursé par la Chambre de Commerce de Cambrai cent jours après la signature de la paix." The name of the printer, "IMP. DELIGNE & CIE CAMBRAI", also appears on this side.
The reverse of the banknote is simpler, repeating part of the text from the obverse. It includes the inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE CAMBRAI", as well as the redemption clause: "Le présent billet sera remboursé par la Chambre de Commerce de Cambrai cent jours après la signature de la paix."
The printer of this banknote was Imprimerie Fernand Deligne et Cie, located in Cambrai, France.
