This 50 centime banknote was issued by the Paris Chamber of Commerce in 1920 and belongs to Series A.1. The front features a plant frame adorned with floral motifs. On the left, a medallion depicts the head of Mercury, recognizable by his petasus. The inscriptions "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE PARIS" and "CINQUANTE CENTIMES" are present, along with the signatures of the treasurer and the president. The nominal value "0.50" is also indicated. The mention "G.FRAIPONT IMP. E H DELAPORTE PARIS" refers to the designer and the printer.
The back of the banknote features a similar plant frame, with oak branches in the center on which tits perch. A medallion, located on the right, depicts a ship sailing to the left. The nominal value "0.50" is repeated. An inscription specifies that the banknotes in circulation will be exchangeable for banknotes of the Banque de France until July 1, 1922, in accordance with the deliberation of the Paris Chamber of Commerce dated March 10, 1920. The signature "G.FRAIPONT" indicates the name of the designer.
The banknote was printed by Imprimerie E H Delaporte, located in Paris, France. It should be noted that it does not have a watermark. Gustave Fraipont is the artist behind the drawings on this banknote.
