This 50-cent banknote was issued by the Nantes Chamber of Commerce in 1918. It belongs to Series U. The front of the banknote features a simple frame, interrupted at the top by a winged medallion adorned with branches and a ship. It bears the inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE NANTES" and the nominal value "BON DE 50 CENTIMES". A serial number, "24959", is also visible, along with the signatures of the Head of Accounting and the President. The motto "OCVLI OMNIVM IN TE SEPARANT DOMINE" is inscribed above the medallion. The mention "IMP MODERNE NANTES" indicates the printer.
The back of the banknote is characterized by a simple frame. The main inscription specifies that the vouchers issued by the Nantes Chamber of Commerce are exchangeable for banknotes of the Banque de France in multiples of ten. It also indicates that their reimbursement is guaranteed by a deposit of equal value at the Banque de France in the name of the Nantes Chamber of Commerce.
The banknote does not have a watermark. It was printed by Imprimerie Moderne De Nantes (Beuchet & Vanden Brugge) in France.
