Description

This 50-centime banknote was issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Moulins and Lapalisse on February 17, 1921, in France.

This banknote has no watermark and features a blue and black print. The inscriptions are made in these two colors, giving the banknote a distinctive two-tone aesthetic. The face value of 50 centimes is clearly indicated, making it easy to identify the value of the banknote.

Two signatures authenticate the banknote, those of the Treasurer and the President of the Chamber of Commerce. These handwritten signatures demonstrate the commitment of the officials of the issuing institution. The series, between 1 and 50, as well as the banknote number, are printed in black, adding unique identification elements to each copy.

At the bottom left of the banknote, we can read "IMP. B. ARNAUD", indicating the printer responsible for the production of the banknote. The mention "LYON - PARIS" at the bottom right suggests the locations of the printer's activities. This information allows us to trace the origin and manufacture of the banknote.

The banknote was redeemable until November 17, 1926, which means that it could be exchanged for its face value at the issuing Chamber of Commerce until that date. After this date, the banknote had no monetary value.

This 50-centime banknote reflects the economic and financial context of the time, when Chambers of Commerce were authorized to issue currency of necessity to facilitate local trade.
