This 50 centime banknote was issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Moulins and Lapalisse (Allier) in France, following the deliberation of October 13, 1916. It is part of Series 135.
The front of the banknote features a red frame surrounding a light blue background. In the center, the face value "50 CENTIMES" is highlighted. On either side, coats of arms are printed, adding a distinctive visual element. The signatures of the Treasurer and the President are affixed under the mention of the Chamber of Commerce. At the bottom of the banknote, in red, is the name of the printer: "IMP. B.ARNAUD _ LYON _ PARIS". The serial number "Série 135 2.365" is also present.
The back of the banknote displays the value "CINQUANTE CENTIMES" both in numbers and letters. In the center, an important message is printed: "CES BONS ÉCHANGEABLES CONTRE DES BILLETS DE LA BANQUE DE FRANCE DEVRONT ÊTRE PRÉSENTÉS AU REMBOURSEMENT, AVANT LE 15 DÉCEMBRE 1922, SAUF DÉCISION PROROGEANT CE DÉLAI". This message indicates the deadline for reimbursement of the banknote from the Bank of France.
The printer of this banknote is B. Arnaud, a company based in Villeurbanne, France, which operated from 1898 to 1990.
