This 50 centime note was issued by the Limoges Chamber of Commerce in 1918. It is a type of emergency currency, issued locally during a period of national currency shortage during the First World War.
The front of the note bears the following inscriptions: "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE LIMOGES" at the top, followed by the face value "50 CENTIMES" in the center. The series mention "série F" is also present, accompanied by a serial number, here "51985". Signatures appear at the bottom, indicating "Le Président", "Par délégation le Vice-Président" and "Le Trésorier".
The back of the note specifies a redemption deadline: "..... devra être présenté au remboursement avant le 1er janvier 1923". It also mentions the printer: "IMP. P. DUMONT A LIMOGES", indicating that the note was printed by Imprimerie Pierre Dumont in Limoges.
The note incorporates a watermark representing bees, a symbolic motif often associated with work and industry.
All inscriptions are written in Latin. This series F note represents a testament to local economic history during a period of crisis.
