This 50 centime note was issued by the Grenoble Chamber of Commerce in France. It is dated September 14, 1916. The front of the note features inscriptions in Latin. It includes the mention of the issuing institution, "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE GRENOBLE", followed by the date of the deliberation that led to its issuance, "Délibération du 14 septembre 1916". The face value, "CINQUANTE CENTIMES", is also prominently inscribed. The signatures of the Treasurer and the President of the Chamber of Commerce also appear on the front. The printer's name, "IMP. B.ARNAUD LYON _ PARIS", is mentioned at the bottom of the composition.
The back of the note, also in Latin script, displays the face value, "50 CENTIMES". A redemption clause is stipulated, indicating that the note is redeemable before September 15, 1921, unless a decision is made to extend this period. The printer's name, B. Arnaud, is associated with the cities of Lyon and Paris, suggesting a presence of the printing house in these two urban centers.
The B. Arnaud printing house, based in Villeurbanne, was in operation from 1898 to 1990. The note bears the series reference "R 118", which may indicate a specific issue or a control number within a larger series of notes issued by the Grenoble Chamber of Commerce.
