This 50 centime banknote was issued by the Angoulême Chamber of Commerce on January 1, 1915. It is a banknote from the 3rd series.
On the front, the banknote features a grey-green frame on a pink background. The words "3rd Série" are repeated twice at the top left and right. The motto "FORTITUDO MEA CIVIUM FIDES" is inscribed in the center, above the issuer's designation, "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE D'ANGOULÊME". The face value "50 CENTIMES" is clearly indicated below. Two handwritten signatures also appear on the banknote, those of the Treasurer and the President. The date of issue, "EMISSION DU 1ER JANVIER 1915", is printed below the signatures. The value "0.50" is repeated with the serial number "42644" on either side of the banknote. At the bottom, in the center, we can read "IMP. KELLER FRÈRES, ANGOULÊME", indicating the printer.
The back of the banknote, printed in grey-green, displays the value "0.50" repeated in the upper left and right corners. A central text specifies that this voucher is guaranteed by a deposit of an equal sum at the Banque de France and that it is exchangeable at the Angoulême branch. It is also indicated that it must be presented for reimbursement within five years, under penalty of prescription. The mention "3rd série" is repeated at the bottom left and right.
