This French emergency banknote, with a value of 50 centimes, was issued by the cities of Roubaix and Tourcoing. It belongs to the AR39 series and is distinguished by its inscriptions in Latin.
On the front, the face value "0.50" is repeated twice. The inscription "VILLES DE ROUBAIX ET DE TOURCOING" is clearly displayed, followed by the designation "BON DE MONNAIE". The series "AR39" is also indicated, and the value "50 CENTIMES" is highlighted. A guarantee is provided, stating that the banknote is guaranteed by the cities of Roubaix and Tourcoing.
The back of the banknote contains a legal warning. It recalls Article 139 of the Penal Code, which provides for sentences of forced labor for life for counterfeiting or falsifying banknotes authorized by law, as well as for the use or introduction of such counterfeit banknotes on French territory. The names of the cities "ROUBAIX" and "TOURCOING" also appear on the back.
The printer of this emergency banknote is Imprimerie Achille Sénécaut, located in Roubaix, France.
