This 50-centime banknote was issued by the Bourges Chamber of Commerce in 1915, belonging to series C.
The front of the banknote features several inscriptions in Latin. It reads "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE BOURGES" at the top, followed by the nominal value "CINQUANTE CENTIMES" in the center. The mentions "Le Trésorier" and "Le Président" are also present, without any names indicated. The year of issue, "MCMXV" (1915), is inscribed. The names of the artists involved in the design and production of the banknote are mentioned: "J. TARDY DEL. LITH.", "Vve TARDY - PIGELET ET FILS - BOURGES" and "H. RICHY Sc."
The back of the banknote bears the following inscription: "Il devra, sous peine de prescription, y être présenté au remboursement avant le 31 octobre 1920" (It must, under penalty of prescription, be presented for reimbursement before October 31, 1920). A serial number, "C 218554", is also present. The printer is identified as "Tardy - Pigelet & fils, Bourges, France".
H. Richy is credited as the engraver, while J. Tardy is designated as the designer.
The banknote mentions a deadline for reimbursement set for October 31, 1920, after which it would be considered prescribed.
