This 50 centime note was issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Bar-le-Duc in 1917. It is a denomination that is part of a larger issue dated September 1, 1917.
On the front, the note features a red print on white paper. The face value "0.50" is repeated four times. The inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE BAR-LE-DUC" is clearly visible, followed by the mention "50 CENTIMES". The functions "Le Trésorier" and "Le Président" are also indicated, without mentioning names. A serial number, "N° 331.265", is printed on the note. The name of the printer, "NANCY PARIS BERGER LEVRAULT", also appears on the front.
The back of the note features a print combining the colors red and blue. The inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE BAR-LE-DUC" is repeated. The text specifies that the denomination is part of the issue of September 1, 1917 and that its equivalent value is deposited in the Public Treasury. It is also indicated that the reimbursement could be made at the public coffers of the Meuse department at any time, and no later than September 1, 1922.
