Description

This 50 centime note was issued by the Gers Chamber of Commerce in 1918, as indicated by the inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DU GERS" on the front. The issuing authorization is dated January 17, 1918, mentioned by "DELIBERATION DU 17 JANVIER 1918". The note belongs to Series K.

The front of the note displays the nominal value of "50 centimes" in words, accompanied by the figures "50c" repeated twice. The signatures of the treasurer and the president of the Chamber of Commerce are also affixed. The front bears the names of J.E.LACOSTE, as designer (Inv.), and E.COLLASSON, as engraver (Grav.), as well as that of the printer, BOUQUET & Co Imr AUCH.

The back of the note presents a geographical layout of the towns of Lectoure, Auch, and Lombez at the top, and Condom and Mirande at the bottom. The nominal value "50 cent." is inscribed in the center. The printer, BOUQUET & Co Imr AUCH, is also mentioned on the back.

The artists J.E. Lacoste and E. Collasson respectively designed and engraved the note. The integrated watermark depicts bees. The printing was done by Th. Bouquet & Cie, a company based in Auch, France, which operated from 1889 to 2014.
