Issue de coffret BE
This 5 Francs coin, struck in Proof (BE) quality in the year 2000, is an issue of the French Republic. It is composed of Copper-Nickel, giving it a silver color.
The obverse of the coin features the Sower, an emblematic allegorical figure of the French Republic. This representation is completed by a rising sun visible on the horizon, symbolizing a new day. The legend "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" is inscribed in an arc above the Sower. The signature of the engraver, O. Roty, also appears on this face.
The reverse of the coin features an assembly of plant symbols: an olive branch, an oak branch and an ear of wheat, representing respectively peace, strength and prosperity. The nominal value of "5 FRANCS" is placed in the center of this composition. The national motto, "LIBERTE ? EGALITE ? FRATERNITE", encircles this ensemble, highlighting the fundamental values of the Republic.
The edge of the coin is reeded.
This coin has a weight of 10 grams and a diameter of 29 millimeters. The mintage of this Proof edition is limited to 15,000 copies.
