The reverse of the coin features a set of plant motifs including an olive branch, an oak branch and an ear of wheat. These elements surround the face value "5 FRANCS". The republican motto "LIBERTE ? EGALITE ? FRATERNITE" is inscribed in an arc above the plant motifs and face value. The year of issue, 1991, is indicated at the bottom of the coin. The signature of the engraver, Louis-Oscar Roty, is also present on this side.
