The obverse of the banknote features the face value "0.25" repeated in all four corners. The mention "VILLES DE ROUBAIX ET DE TOURCOING" is highlighted, followed by "BON DE MONNAIE". The series is specified by "NEUVIÈME SÉRIE". The face value "25 CENTIMES" is clearly indicated. A guarantee is provided by the issuing cities, ensuring reimbursement from the sixth month after the conclusion of peace, at the revenue office of each city. The deliberation of the Roubaix municipal council, dated December 16, 1916, as well as the approval of the prefectural authority of December 28, 1916, are mentioned. A control number, "N°516", and another control number "N° DE CONTRÔLE 15366" are present. The names of the mayors of Roubaix and Tourcoing are inscribed. An instruction specifies that the banknote must be stamped with the dry stamp of one of the two cities to be valid. The name of the printer, "Louis Debode, Imp, Roubaix", is also mentioned.
