This 25 centime note was issued by the cities of Roubaix and Tourcoing. It is a currency voucher from the ninth series, dated December 16, 1916.
On the obverse, the face value "25" is inscribed in numbers in each corner, framing the main text. The words "VILLES DE ROUBAIX ET DE TOURCOING" appear at the top, followed by "BON DE MONNAIE". Below, we read "NEUVIÈME SÉRIE" and the value "25 CENTIMES". A guarantee is mentioned, stipulating that the note is guaranteed by the cities of Roubaix and Tourcoing and redeemable at the revenue office of each city from the sixth month after the conclusion of peace. The deliberation of the Roubaix municipal council of April 21, 1917, and the approval of the prefectural authority of November 2, 1917, are also indicated. A control number, "N° DE CONTRÔLE 5860", is present, as well as a specific number "N°506". The signatures of the mayor of Roubaix and the mayor of Tourcoing are affixed. It is specified that, to be valid, this note must be stamped with the dry stamp of one of the two cities. The name of the printer, "Louis Debode, Imp, Roubaix", is mentioned at the bottom.
On the reverse, the value "0.25" is repeated in each corner. In the center, we find the words "VILLE DE ROUBAIX" on the left and "VILLE DE TOURCOING" on the right, separated by the value "25 CENTIMES".
The note was printed by the Louis Debode printing house, located in Roubaix, France.
