This 25 centime note was issued by the towns of Roubaix and Tourcoing in France in 1916. It belongs to the ninth series of this local currency issue. The text is written in Latin.
The obverse of the note features the face value "0.25" repeated in each corner. The inscription "VILLES DE ROUBAIX ET DE TOURCOING" appears at the top, followed by "BON DE MONNAIE". The series designation, "NEUVIÈME SÉRIE", is also printed. In the center is the value "25 CENTIMES", accompanied by the guarantee of reimbursement by the towns of Roubaix and Tourcoing after a period of six months following the conclusion of peace. A reference to the deliberation of the Roubaix municipal council of April 21, 1917, as well as the approval of the prefectural authority of November 2, 1917, is included. The serial number "N°501" is present, as are the signatures of the mayors of Roubaix and Tourcoing. A control number, "N° DE CONTRÔLE 6062", is also visible. The inscription "Pour être valable ce billet doit être frappé du timbre sec de l'une des deux villes" is printed at the bottom. The name of the printer, "Louis Debode, Imp, Roubaix", is indicated.
The reverse of the note repeats the face value "0.25" in each corner, as well as the inscriptions "VILLE DE ROUBAIX" and "VILLE DE TOURCOING", separated by the value "25 CENTIMES" in the center.
The note was printed by Imprimerie Louis Debode, located in Roubaix, France.
