This banknote is an issue of the City of Saint-Quentin, dated September 22, 1915, during the First World War. It is a municipal bond with a value of 20 francs.
The front of the note clearly indicates the issuer, "VILLE DE SAINT-QUENTIN", as well as the face value, "VINGT FRANCS", printed in large characters. The date of authorization of the issue is mentioned as being derived from a deliberation of the Municipal Council of September 22, 1915.
The note bears the serial number N° 44651 and belongs to Series A. The redemption conditions are specified: the note is "Redeemable in cash on sight upon presentation at the Municipal Revenue Office three months after the signing of the peace." This clause is similar to that of subsequent issues.
A large circular black stamp is affixed to the left of the note, indicating "RECETTE MUNICIPALE / DE ST-QUENTIN". The series is not legible on the stamp. The note is signed "P. le Maire: Le Conseiller Municipal délégué," with the handwritten signature of a delegate.
The security background of the paper is light pink/red in color, while the prints are made in black and red. This combination of colors contributes to both the aesthetic of the note and its security.
