The 2 Francs Sower coin, struck in silver at the Castelsarrasin mint and dating from 1914, represents a monetary unit of the French Republic. It weighs 10 grams and has a diameter of 27 millimeters.
The obverse of the coin features the figure of the Sower, an allegory of the French Republic. This representation is signed by O. Roty, identifying Louis-Oscar Roty as the engraver responsible for this motif. The legend "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" is inscribed in capital letters, framing the central figure.
The reverse features an olive branch arranged under the face value of "2 FRANCS". The republican motto "LIBERTE ? EGALITE ? FRATERNITE" is engraved around this central motif. The year of issue, 1914, also appears on this side. Louis-Oscar Roty is credited as the engraver of this composition.
The edge of the coin is reeded, offering a distinctive texture to the touch. The mint is identified by the letter "C", indicating Castelsarrasin.
