The 2 Francs Sower coin, dated 1986, is a French divisional coin struck in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) quality. It is composed of nickel, giving it a silver color.
The obverse of the coin features a representation of the Republic as a sower. This figure, draped and wearing a Phrygian cap, is depicted walking, making a sowing gesture facing the wind. Her long hair floats behind her, while a rising sun is drawn in the background. The legend "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" is inscribed in an arc above the sower, and the signature "D'APRÈS O.ROTY" indicates that the design is based on an original work by Louis-Oscar Roty.
The reverse of the coin features two branches, one of oak and the other of olive, crossed at their base. These branches frame the face value "2 FRANCS". The whole is integrated into an octagonal shape, inside which is inscribed the republican motto "LIBERTE ? EGALITE ? FRATERNITE".
The coin weighs 7.5 grams and has a diameter of 26.5 millimeters. Its edge is reeded. The mintage of this specific edition is limited to 15,000 copies.
