The 2 Francs banknote issued by the Angoulême Chamber of Commerce in 1915 is a testament to the emergency issues during the First World War. This banknote is part of the 4th series issued by this chamber of commerce.
The obverse of the banknote features the inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE D'ANGOULEME" in capital letters. The face value of "DEUX FRANCS" is clearly indicated, accompanied by the number "2" repeated on each side. The printer's mention, "IMP. KELLER FRÈRES, ANGOULÊME" is also present. The mention "4me série" is inscribed in the upper left and upper right.
The reverse of the banknote bears the inscription "Ce Bon garantie par Dépôt d'égal somme à la Banque de France est toujours échangeable aux guichets de sa succursale d?Angoulême et devra sous peine de prescription y être présenté au remboursement dans le délai de cinq ans à dater de ce jour." This inscription specifies the guarantee and reimbursement conditions of the banknote with the Banque de France. The value "2" is repeated on each side, and the mention "4me série" is also present.
This banknote does not have a watermark. The printing was done by Imprimerie Keller frères, located in Angoulême, France.
