This 2 franc banknote is issued by the city of Abbeville in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of the district of Abbeville. The front of the banknote features a frame adorned with plant motifs. In the center, the face value "2" is written twice, framing the words "VILLE D'ABBEVILLE ET CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE L'ARRONDISSEMENT D'ABBEVILLE". The value "DEUX FRANC" is also indicated. At the bottom of the banknote, we find the signature "L.LECLERC FEC" on the left and "CHAIX - IMP" on the right. The front is designed by Léon Leclerc.
The back of the banknote features a frame with geometric patterns. The inscriptions repeat the face value "2" twice, as well as the mention "VILLE D'ABBEVILLE CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE L'ARRONDISSEMENT D'ABBEVILLE". The back also includes articles relating to the Banque de France and divisional bonds, in particular the conditions for depositing, exchanging and reimbursing these bonds. Article 4 specifies that the Banque de France receives deposits of divisional bonds. Article 5 stipulates that the Banque de France does not issue divisional bonds for a sum less than 20 francs and that cash reimbursement is only possible for a presentation of at least fifty francs. Article 7 indicates that the equivalent value of bonds not presented for exchange within three months of the liquidation date will be deposited with the Caisse municipale, which will ensure reimbursement for five years, after which the holders will forfeit their rights.
The banknote features a watermark of leaves. Printed in blue on a beige-orange background, it has two signatures, those of the "Vice-Président" and an "Adjoint", as well as a number in black. The dimensions of the banknote are 124 × 83 mm. This banknote is not dated and has a dry stamp. The Chaix printing house, based in Paris, carried out the printing of this banknote.
