The 2 Francs banknote issued by the City of Abbeville and the Chamber of Commerce of the Abbeville district is a testimony to local monetary history. It is a "voucher" type and not strictly fiat money.
On the obverse, the banknote features a frame adorned with floral motifs. In the center, the face value of "DEUX FRANC" is highlighted. There are also the mentions "VILLE D'ABBEVILLE" and "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE L'ARRONDISSEMENT D'ABBEVILLE". The name of the designer, Léon Leclerc, is mentioned with the mention "FEC", followed by the printer "CHAIX - IMP". The numbers "2" are present in the four corners of the banknote.
The reverse of the banknote is distinguished by a frame with geometric patterns. The central text details the conditions of exchange and reimbursement of the divisional vouchers. Mention is made of the Banque de France and its role in the deposit and exchange of these vouchers. Regulatory articles are cited, specifying the minimum amounts for exchange, the repayment deadlines and the procedures for deposit at the Municipal Treasury in the event of non-presentation within the time limits. The mention "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE L'ARRONDISSEMENT D'ABBEVILLE" is also present, as well as the number "2" repeated in all four corners.
The banknote has a watermark representing leaves. Its dimensions are 124 mm in length and 83 mm in width.
