This French banknote was issued on April 18, 1946. It belongs to the C.39 series and has a face value of 100 francs.
The front of the note depicts a young peasant. On the left, a portrait of a young man wearing a beret and work jacket. Behind him, a rural landscape with trees and cultivated fields. The face value "100" is printed large in the upper left corner and smaller in the lower right corner. The mention "BANQUE DE FRANCE" appears at the top of the note, while the signature of the general cashier and that of the general secretary are affixed at the bottom.
On the back, there is a similar landscape, with a group of young peasants working in the fields. A man is mowing. The face value "100" is also present in the upper left and lower right corners. The text "LA LOI PUNIT LE CONTREFACTEUR" is printed at the bottom of the note.
The banknote is printed in polychrome, with dominant colors of ochre, green and brown. The dimensions of the banknote are 160 mm x 97 mm. The watermark represents a head of Mercury, god of commerce and travelers in Roman mythology.
This banknote was withdrawn from circulation on June 1, 1949.
