This French banknote with a face value of 100 francs was issued on June 16, 1938. It belongs to the S.59846 series.
On the obverse, there is a representation of Agriculture and Commerce, personified on the right and left respectively, and accompanied by two children. The whole is adorned with fruit motifs and vegetal decorations. Gilded moldings enhance the aesthetic of the note. The inscription "BANQUE DE FRANCE" is prominently displayed, followed by the mention "CENT FRANCS" and the clause "PAYABLES EN ESPECES, A VUE, AU PORTEUR". The signatures "LVC OLIVIER MERSON DEL ROMAGNOL SC" are also present, identifying Luc Olivier Merson as the designer and Cesare Abramo Romagnoli as the engraver.
The reverse of the banknote features personifications of Labor, represented by a blacksmith on the left, and Fortune, depicted by a woman and child holding a cornucopia on the right. Gilded moldings also frame this composition.
