Description

This French banknote has a face value of 100 francs and was issued in 1941. The banknote belongs to series E.23553. Its dimensions are 180 mm in length and 92 mm in width.

The front of the banknote features a bust of a laurel-wreathed woman, an allegory of France, holding the staff of command in her right hand. With her left hand, she picks fruits and flowers offered to her by a child, representing Youth. The background offers an aerial view of Paris, where Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Seine can be seen in particular. The inscriptions on this side include "100 BANQUE DE FRANCE 100" as well as the mention "CENT FRANCS". The script used is Latin.

The back of the banknote features Sully, depicted on the right, holding a parchment. A picturesque pastoral landscape serves as a backdrop to this representation.

Ernest Deloche is identified as the engraver of this banknote, while Lucien Hector Jonas is the designer.
