The 100 Francs Sully banknote, dated October 24, 1940, is a testament to French monetary history. This banknote belongs to series A.15525 and was issued by the Banque de France.
On the front, the banknote features a bust of a laurel-wreathed woman, an allegory of France. She holds the baton of command in her right hand, a symbol of authority, while with her left hand, she picks fruits and flowers offered by a child, representing Youth. In the background, an aerial view of Paris reveals Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Seine, emblematic elements of the French urban landscape. The inscriptions "100 BANQUE DE FRANCE 100" and "CENT FRANCS" are also present, indicating the face value of the banknote. The writing is in Latin. Ernest Deloche is identified as the engraver, and Lucien Hector Jonas as the designer.
The back of the banknote depicts Sully on the right, holding a parchment. A picturesque pasture landscape serves as the backdrop for this representation. The writing used is also in Latin.
The banknote's dimensions are 180 mm in length and 92 mm in width.
