Description

The 100 Francs Sully banknote, issued on October 12, 1939, belongs to the Z.2756 series. It is a Banque de France banknote, representing a nominal value of 100 francs.

The front of the banknote features a bust of a laureate woman, an allegory of France. She holds the baton of command in her right hand, a symbol of her authority. With her left hand, she picks fruits and flowers presented by a child, representing Youth. In the background, an aerial view of Paris reveals Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Seine winding through the city. The writing used on this banknote is Latin. It reads "100 BANQUE DE FRANCE 100 CENT FRANCS". Ernest Deloche is the engraver of this banknote, while Lucien Hector Jonas is the designer. The dimensions of the banknote are 180 mm in length and 92 mm in width.

The back of the banknote features Sully, a historical figure, holding a parchment. The background is composed of a picturesque pastoral landscape, evoking rurality and tradition.
