The front of the note features a bust of a laurel-crowned woman, an allegorical personification of France. She holds the baton of command in her right hand, a symbol of authority, while with her left hand, she picks fruits and flowers offered by a child, representing Youth. In the background, an aerial view of Paris reveals iconic monuments such as Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Seine meandering through the city.
The inscriptions on the front, written in Latin script, include the mention "BANQUE DE FRANCE" and the face value of the note, "100 FRANCS," repeated several times.
The back of the note features Sully, a French statesman, depicted on the right side of the image holding a parchment. A picturesque rural landscape serves as a backdrop, evoking scenes of grazing.
The dimensions of this note are 180 mm in length and 92 mm in width. Ernest Deloche is credited as the engraver of this note, while Lucien Hector Jonas is the designer.
