This French banknote, with a face value of 100 francs, was issued in 1938. It is a banknote from the K.60603 series, designed by Luc Olivier Merson and engraved by Cesare Abramo Romagnoli.
The front of the banknote features allegorical personifications of Agriculture and Commerce, located to the right and left of the center, respectively. These figures are accompanied by two children, and the whole is embellished with fruit motifs and vegetal decorations. Gilded moldings frame the composition. The writing used on this side of the banknote is in Latin. It also includes the inscription "BANQUE DE FRANCE" followed by "CENT FRANCS" and the statement "PAYABLES EN ESPECES, A VUE, AU PORTEUR". The signature "LVC OLIVIER MERSON DEL ROMAGNOL SC" is also present.
The back of the banknote depicts personifications of Labor, represented by a blacksmith on the left, and Fortune, symbolized by a woman and a child holding a cornucopia on the right. Gilded moldings complete the aesthetics of this side of the banknote. The dimensions of the banknote are 180 mm in length and 112 mm in width.
