This French banknote has a face value of 10 francs. It was issued in 1940.
The front of the banknote features a portrait of the goddess Minerva, also known as Athena, inserted into a medallion positioned on the left. The printing is done in blue. It includes the words "BANQUE DE FRANCE", "DIX FRANCS", and the value "10" repeated on each side. A legal inscription warns that "THE COUNTERFEITER WILL BE PUNISHED WITH FORCED LABOR FOR LIFE". The names of the designer, Georges Duval, and the engraver, Cesare Abramo Romagnoli, are also indicated.
The back of the banknote depicts a young peasant woman sitting in profile in a field. She holds a sickle and leans on a bushel. The whole is surrounded by a garland of vine leaves and bunches of grapes. The value "10" is again present, as well as the mention "BANQUE DE FRANCE". The names of Georges Duval (GEO. DUVAL FEC.) and Cesare Abramo Romagnoli (ROMAGNOL SC.) are also inscribed.
The banknote's watermark represents a profile head of Mercury.
The dimensions of the banknote are 138 mm in length and 88 mm in width. The specified serial number is U.77925.
