This coin is a 10 Franc coin, minted in France in 1986. It is commonly called "Jimenez" in reference to the engraver who designed its motif.
The coin is made of nickel. It weighs 6.5 grams and its diameter is 21 millimeters. A particular feature of this specimen is that it "touches the rim", which means that the relief of the motif is very close to the edge of the coin.
On the obverse, there is a representation of Marianne, symbol of the French Republic. She is wearing a Phrygian cap. The legend "République Française" is inscribed in an arc above Marianne. The name of the engraver Jimenez is also present, discreetly integrated into the motif.
The reverse shows the face value "10 Francs", accompanied by a laurel branch and an oak branch, symbols of glory and permanence. The year of issue, 1986, is also indicated on this face. The arrangement of the elements and the general style are characteristic of Jimenez's creations for French coins of this era.
