The 1973 Marianne 10 centime coin is a French coin. It is composed of bronze and aluminum, weighing 4 grams and measuring 23.5 millimeters in diameter. Its condition is defined as Fleur de Coin (FDC), which indicates that it comes from a set and has hardly circulated.
The obverse of the coin features the left profile of Marianne, an allegorical figure of the French Republic, facing the wind and wearing the Phrygian cap, a symbol of freedom. The legend "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" encircles the portrait. The engraver's signature, Henri Lagriffoul, is also visible on this side.
The reverse of the coin features an ear of wheat, a symbol of abundance and prosperity, as well as an olive branch, representing peace. These floral elements frame the face value of "10 CENTIMES". The republican motto "LIBERTE - EGALITE - FRATERNITE" is inscribed in an arc around these motifs. The year of issue, 1973, also appears on this side, as well as the name of the engraver, Adrien Dieudonné.
