This French banknote, with a nominal value of 1 mark, was issued in 1947. It belongs to Series A.
The front of the note features a central medallion with the head of Zeus, depicted three-quarters to the right. The iconography is complemented by ornamental plant motifs. The following inscriptions are present: the face value "1 | 1", the name of the region "SAAR", the year of issue "1947", and the value designation "ONE MARK". The engravers of this note are Ernest Deloche and Pierre Munier.
On the back, there is a representation of Ceres, depicted facing forward. She holds ears of wheat in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left hand. The writing used on the banknote is Latin.
