Description

This French banknote was issued by the Chamber of Commerce of Montpellier. It has a face value of one franc. This banknote was issued following the deliberation of August 9, 1915.

The obverse of the banknote features the inscription "CHAMBRE DE COMMERCE DE MONTPELLIER" at the top, followed by the mention "Délibération du 9 août 1915" (Deliberation of August 9, 1915). The face value "UN FRANC" (ONE FRANC) is clearly indicated in the center. The signatures of the Treasurer and the President of the Chamber of Commerce are also found. The serial number "Série 50 04.439" is printed. The mention "P. ARNAVIELME INV IMP RICHARD" indicates the designer, Paul Arnavielhe, and the printer Richard.

The reverse of the banknote displays the face value "1 FRANC" in large format. The important mention regarding reimbursement is inscribed: "Ce billet devra être présenté au remboursement avant le 10 août 1920 sauf décision prorogeant ce délai" (This banknote must be presented for reimbursement before August 10, 1920 unless a decision extends this deadline). The name of the printer, "Imprimerie Richard, Paris, France", also appears on the reverse.

The banknote is written in Latin script, both on the obverse and reverse. The year of issue of this banknote is 1917. This banknote belongs to series 50.
