This 1 Franc banknote was issued in 1915 by the Rouen Chamber of Commerce in France. The banknote is printed in French and features Latin script inscriptions on both sides.
On the obverse, you can read the face value "Un Franc" as well as the mention "Ville De Rouen" and "Chambre De Commerce de Rouen". The year of issue, 1915, is also indicated. It also features the signatures of the Mayor and the President of the Chamber of Commerce. A serial number, such as "N° 039.059", is printed on the banknote. The name of the printer, "IMP RICHARD, PARIS", is also present.
The reverse of the banknote contains legal information relating to the exchange and reimbursement of fractional notes. Article 4 stipulates that the Banque de France will not exchange the notes for a sum less than 20 francs. Article 5 specifies that on-demand reimbursement may be required for a minimum amount of 100 francs, or for a lower amount supplemented by banknotes from the Banque de France or in cash. Articles 6 and 7 define the procedures for liquidation and final reimbursement of fractional notes, as well as the applicable deadlines and conditions. The printer mentioned on the reverse is "Imprimerie Richard, Paris, France".
The banknote measures 119 mm in length and 76 mm in width.
